About Us

Looking Out for You and Your Assets Since 1994

Mission is a business that is all about people.  We want to meet with you, get to know you, and be there when you need us—as our quarter-century history shows.  We also want you to get to know us, one of the most stable and experienced trust teams in Arizona.  Come meet the team.

Established in 1994, Mission is an independent trust company based in Tucson, Arizona.  Our core services include trust and fiduciary services, asset management, and securities custody.  Mission works with high net worth families, special needs or supplemental benefits trusts, religious and non-profit organizations, retirement, corporate and captive insurance assets.  Why trust Mission?

The Mission Story

From Bullfighting to Bull/Bear—and Beyond

Mission’s story has modest roots in the jungles of Costa Rica, where Carmen Bermúdez was born, to the bullrings of Mexico City, where she was one of the first women bullfighters.  Showing the same courage she displayed in the bullring, Mission’s Chairman, CEO and founder established the first minority-woman owned trust company in an industry dominated by larger companies.

Carmen’s story has appeared in The New York Times, an Arizona PBS video,  and many other publications:

When founding Mission, Carmen envisioned providing top quality trust services and always giving back to the community.  Even Mission’s name reflects those objectives.  As inspiration, Carmen selected Mission San Xavier, Tucson’s noteworthy landmark inextricably identified with the local Native American population.  That name acts as a constant guide and reminder about our responsibilities to clients and the community.

Recognized for Professional Excellence and Community Commitment

Mission is highly regarded for the quality of our operations and our social responsibility.  We want our clients and our communities to thrive.  To contribute to their prosperity, we must excel at how we run our business for the benefit of our clients, and we must continuously work to support our communities.  Here’s what others say:

  • University of Arizona Alumni magazine recognized Mission Vice President Christina Noz in 2019 for her ongoing service to the University.
  • Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament in Bensalem, PA, Mission’s first client, presented Carmen Bermúdez with the 2015 St. Katharine Drexel National Justice Award for her assistance to minorities and women.
  • Tucson Urban League honored Carmen Bermúdez with the 2014 Whitney M. Young award for all she has done to empower people and improve our community.
  • National Minority Supplier Development Council named Mission 1998 Supplier of the Year.
  • YWCA Southern Arizona honored Mission with the 1995 YWCA Women on the Move Corporate Award.
